This tour was definitely well worth doing. Our tour guide Ryan was so nice and extremely knowledgeable. You could see it wasn't just a job to him. We were taken to Bethlehem first to see all the sights. The Church of the Nativity was amazing in particular. I have difficulty walking but Ryan was excellent at pacing the tour. After lunch we went to Jerusalem and that was even more amazing . The Church of the Sepulchre was the highlight for me here. I took so many pics and had to go over them the next day to refresh my memory of what we had seen. Once again I can't praise Ryan enough. The next day we were also booked on another tour of Nazareth and Capernium but unfortunately we were switched buses and although it was good too, we missed Ryan. This is a good well organised tour company and I would recommend them.

This tour was excellent. Our guide Joseph was fantastic and very professional. He was easy to understand and provided us a lot of information during the van drive to Jerusalem. In Jerusalem he kept us informed about where we were, what was important about it, where we were going next and why, and answered all questions from tour participants. He was also very entertaining throughout the day. He also was much attuned to tour members and their interests based on the questions they asked. Specifically, my husband's Father had been here in WWII and we have an album of pictures he took when he was there. He took pictures of those pictures and we wanted to see if we could see those same sights on our trip. When we showed a few of the pictures to Joseph he was very interested in our “Quest for Dad’s history” and helped us find those spots – getting the whole tour group excited about the finds. We hit all the high points we wanted to see and more.
Our driver, Achmed was also excellent. We never felt he was not in total control of the van and felt completely safe the entire time we were traveling with him. In addition, the interaction between Joseph and Achmed was always very cordial and professional.
The switch over to Palestine in order to go to Bethlehem was seamless (except we felt compassion for Joseph having to wait in the cold for us to get back to him). David, our guide in Bethlehem was also very professional and entertaining. We personally would have preferred stopping in a market for the shopping tour rather than the store we went to – the owner was rather pompous and the prices seemed high, but we bought a small something anyway – we just didn’t feel like it was anything but a high pressure sales experience. But we don’t know the laws, rules, and political overtones the Israeli tour companies have to deal with, so our comments are just for your info. In a nine hour day the 20 minutes in the store was nothing.
This full day tour was very moving, filled with amazing sights and sounds, and well worth 3 times what we paid.
The only negative thing about the tour is something that Guided tours Israel was not responsible for and could not control or change. These comments are for fellow travelers about facing the reality of their physical limitations and how their failure to do that can negatively impact other travelers. Guided tours Israel clearly advises in their email to people interested “Kindly note that our shared-excursions are not suitable for participants with mobility issues and if this is applicable to you then please contact us about making arrangements for touring privately”. Obviously some people don’t seem to be willing to accept that this refers to them. We had one couple – She was very overweight and had problems walking and even getting into the van the first thing in the morning. Her husband appeared to have a neuropathy problem (I say this because our brother-in-law suffers from this and has the same problems this gentleman had walking) that made walking difficult. Someone from our tour group always had to help them walk, especially every time we encountered any stairs, and we were significantly slowed down all day long because of them. When we got to the place Joseph usually stopped for lunch they were already closed and he had to hustle to find another place we could eat as a group (which he did a great job at). My phone registered that we walked 5.6 miles that day during the tour. So fellow travelers, please be realistic about what you can and cannot do at a normal healthy adult pace when booking tours that include other people so as not to negatively impact their experience.

We did two tours - one on Christmas Eve to Jerusalem and Bethlehem and one on Christmas Day to Nazareth and the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan River. Omri was our guide and he was friendly, extremely knowledgeable and moved at our pace (4 of us) which was important as we are seniors with slight mobility issues. We saw everything we expected and he took us to wonderful local restaurants for lunch each day. He was very personable and a careful driver - returning us to the port in a timely manner.
Leo, our contact person for arranging the tour, was very responsive to the multitude of questions that I had; and I felt very comfortable booking with this company.
We chose a private tour because we were concerned about keeping up with a large bus tour which was arranged by the ship - and we are so glad we did. Other family members that were on the cruise and took the buses were extremely disappointed in their tour of Jerusalem and Bethlehem. They did not see half of the things we did and their tour guides were inefficient, hard to understand, and lost some of their passengers. And they got back to the ship 3 hours later than we did!
I can't recommend them enough - this was a once in a lifetime experience for us, and we definitely got our money's worth. Ask for Omri if you decide to book!

I am a retired United Methodist Minister who has visited and toured Israel 4 times previously to this Holy Land Ship cruise. We were promised 3 days of experienced tour guides, what we got were nice gentlemen that seemed they had never been to the sites we visited. I had to explain to our bus where we were and the significance of the sites. They tried to read the names of the sites off a piece of paper and most of the time mispronounced the name of where we were.
The time management was horrific, causing us to go entire days without stopping for lunch until just before the tour was over. I have traveled all over the world and this was the first time I've ever had a bus driver stop in the middle of a tour to get gas, wasting almost 45 minutes of our tour time. If that wasn't bad enough the driver would go off when we stopped at a site to get snacks while we all had to wait for his return. He would drive constantly talking or yelling on the phone or with food in this hand. Sitting right behind the driver and seeing how he drove honestly made me very nervous.
In concluding I must say I felt very sad for the folks on our tour bus who had never been to the Holy Land because of how they were "short changed" by what they didn't see or the shortness of tine they had at sites because of the lack of time management and bus driver malfeasance. No, I would NOT recommend this tour company.

Again – the same group of 72 misled clients. They booked with Bill Netro Tours. He organizes shore excursions for cruisers and makes a fortune on these people. They DID NOT BOOK WITH US DIRECTLY. Only the agent booked with us – 1 person. We probably received one fifth of what his group paid him. He apparently promised them things we never agreed to, for example that we will use whisperers. We never agreed to it. For the price he paid us they received above and beyond what is reasonable. For the price they paid him – they must have had different expectations and we are sorry for their disappointment. We have a money back guarantee if you book with us directly and you will know in advance exactly what will be included in the tours. We are no longer taking large group bookings through a non-licensed agent. You should avoid this arrangement as well and book directly with the tour company so you know exactly what you will receive. Thank you for reading this response.

This was our third visit to Jerusalem and on each trip we learn more. Our guide was Omri who has deep knowledge of the history, religions, and cultures of the area. He expertly guided us through all of the significant sites with background information and insights on contemporary issues. The best way to navigate the small crowded streets is on a private tour, and we have no hesitation in recommending Guided Tours and Omri. Another advantage to booking a private tour is being able to tailor the pace and the sights to your preferences. We specifically requested not going to Bethlehem. Having visited previously we did not want to endure the gift shop hassles. We later learned that some passengers missed other sites because of the delays experienced there.

Excellent communication during the booking process. Very well organised on arrival at Port. Guide was very informative. We managed to see a lot on this tour without being rushed. Arrived back to the ship in plenty of time. Would definitely use again if visiting Israel.

We had a wonderful experience with Guided Tours Israel. Emails were answered promptly and a great program was suggested for our 5 days in Israel. All 5 days with our guide Ehu were phenomenal. We saw all the best sites. Ehu explained everything in great detail and was skilled at avoiding long lines and crowds. He made excellent lunch selections and gave us options. Not only was he an excellent driver and guide, he became our friend along the way. We highly appreciate and recommend Guided Tours Israel and our guide Ehu.

The tour guide was terrible! He would start taking before the whole group got to him, so that we could not hear him. When we told him to slow down and wait until the whole group got there, he just ignored our requests. Told us no shopping, no pictures, just raced though the streets of Jerusalem. It was very crowded and hard to keep up with the guide. He should have taken that into account. Should have adjusted the tour and deleted a site or two, so we could enjoy the other sites. As an example, at the Wailing Wall we only had 10 minutes. The bus driver was on his phone arguing with someone and the guides. His driving was terrible and dangerous.

Hi - sorry to read you had a disappointing tour. We have a Satisfaction Guarantee policy - so if you toured with us (we can't tell from the photo) and you contacted us directly then we would give you your money back. Unfortunately, you did not mention the name of the guide or the date of your visit so we cannot investigate this further.
It is true that the sites in Israel are very busy during the peak season. It is also true that we expect out guests to be able to keep up with the pace of the tour in our GROUP tours. If you have mobility issues then we strongly recommend booking a private tour only.
Thank you.

Took consecutive day long shore excursions (ex Ashdod and ex Haifa) with Guided Tours Israel and they were lead by very reliable, informational guides who take great effort to provide us a great experience in Israel. Communication with Leo our initial contact was prompt, responsive and provide us details leading to this trip .... this was the reason we went ahead with Guided Tour Israel instead of another tour company which never responded to many of our initial enquiries. Then we were not disappointed with the experience guides they provide. They take effort to ensure that our tour group of 2-4 families ( 16 persons including children) were safe and informed and provided the opportunity to see all the locations they had planned for the tour notwithstanding the hour long traffic jam going to jerusalem. This is my second tour to Israel and my hats off to providing such a lovely tour within the 8-10hrs window of day long shore excursions.

Hello, do you do private day tours to Jerusalem and Bethlehem? I ask because I do have some minor back issues and would find a lot of walking, climbing steps etc perhaps difficult and wouldn't want to hold up a tour group.

We would like to do the Ashdod Shore Excursion to Jerusalem and Bethlehem day trip on Tuesday 10th September 2019. We will be in port on cruise ship Azamara Persuit. Can you tell me what the time of pick up from ship would be and the time of getting back to the ship.

Our pickup time at the port was 7.30am, but we did get through customs about 9.30. (12 custom officers for a shipload of passengers!!).Our tour was waiting for us. Small group 14 px. We had a great guide and saw lots of things, more than we expected.
In order to make up for lost time in the customs, we decided not to take 1.5 hours for a sit-down lunch (at own expense) but bought pastries at at bakery instead. We returned well in time for the departure of the ship (I think 6 or 6.30pm)
Wear comfy shoes because their is a lot of up and down walking involved but by far this is one of the more interesting tours we have ever done. Highly recommended.
