I recently returned from an unforgettable trip organized by Bill Beard Costa Rica. They were very easy to communicate with before and during my trip. Costa Rica is a relatively small country, but it can be overwhelming to plan a trip on your own and maximize your vacation time. Bill Beard's handled it all for me, which was amazing. Not having to worry about planning transfers from the airport, activities, and hotels was great, and they booked the best operators for our activities.
We started with lodging at Villas Sol in Playa Hermosa, which was an all-inclusive. The food was good, and the staff were so nice. They knew us by name by the second day. Our room was by the pool, and we had a fabulous view of the water and sunsets. The beach area by the hotel is also very nice.
I did one day of diving out of Guanacaste, and we went with Rocket Frog Divers, booked through Bill Beard's. It was just me and one other diver (plus my mom, who doesn't dive) on the boat. It felt like a private tour. Their dive shop was really nice, the guide was very personable, and the boat was spacious and comfortable. We did the local Gulf of Papagayo dive sites, where we saw massive schools of fish, 8 sharks, a longtail ray, several species of eels, and the most octopus I have ever seen at one site (lost count)!
Bill Beard's organized the transfer to our next hotel, Arenal Manoa, located near La Fortuna and Arenal Volcano. We stayed in a spacious Junior Suite with amazing views of Arenal Volcano. This was a beautiful property with amazing tropical foliage and so many birds. We saw toucans and a huge variety of tropical birds every day. We also saw caimans, iguanas, agoutis, and sloths! The hot spring pools and ponds at this resort were beautiful and so relaxing. We spent hours in the hot springs!
The resort included breakfast every day, and the food was delicious. There is an omelette station, local fresh fruits, fresh pastries, cooked breakfast foods, fresh fruit juices, and more. Bill Beard's made the right choice in selecting this resort for us!
Bill Beard's organized a whitewater rafting trip on the Balsa River through Wave Rafting. They promptly picked us up from our hotel, and along the scenic drive to the river they gave information about the local area and also gave a thorough briefing about rafting. Our guide was great and made it a safe trip for us. He also pointed out wildlife along the river, including basilisks, iguanas, and sloths. After the rafting, they took us to a local organic food for a delicious lunch made with items grown on the farm. I really enjoyed the coffee they served here. After lunch, we saw a demonstration on how they process the sugarcane and got to participate in a tasting.
I really appreciate all the work from Bill Beard's in organizing this trip for us. I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a trip to Costa Rica, as their experience and local knowledge is unmatched!

This is the most thorough and best thought out review we have ever received in our 54 years and we can't thank you enough for taking your time to write it. To say we are ecstatic is an understatement, we are over joyed and over the top and it is being sent all around our company for everyone to read. You have made our day and probably our year, Thank you. I was so impressed with all that you were able to see and do, this should be an outline for everyone coming to Costa Rica. You have spelled out why someone visiting Costa Rica should have a professional from our company setting up the itinerary. Those that do see more, do more, save time, stress, aggravation and some money and as you know our concierge service is free and we are delighted to do it and set up the vacation you want and have probably dreamed about. Hopefully you will return soon and allow us to set up a different itinerary for you to enjoy. Be sure we would love to do it. I can't thank you enough but thank you again and Pura Vida.

Bill Beard planned our entire combination trip with Playa del Coco and Arenal/La Fortuna. We spent the first half of our trip on Playa del Coco 1-2 blocks away from the town and had the ability to walk to almost everything. All the pick-ups for diving were included and we had the best dive company! Then we traveled to Arenal/ La Fortuna and did multiple activities including the hanging bridges, La Fortuna waterfall, a night tour in the rainforest and white water rafting. As a planner myself, this trip was near seamless and very enjoyable. 10/10 recommend!!

This is the third group I've led to Costa Rica using Bill Beard's Costa Rica and the single word I would use to describe every trip is "consistency"! The trip is consistently well planned, well organized, and well executed. From the moment our guide met us at the airport on arrival until the moment we said goodbye we were taken care of by experts. The tours were better than my group dreamed they would be, and the local dining and excursions brought Costa Rica deeper into our hearts and minds. My people loved feeling they were on more than "just a tour", but that they were experiencing being a part of the people and culture we came to visit. From cultural tours, wildlife tours, and even our scuba diving there was no end to the wonder. Even when asked, my group couldn't agree on any single experience they felt to be the "best"; only that everything we did seemed to be incredible for divers and non-divers alike. Thank you Bill and Nadine Beard, Jose Caravaca, and the entire staff for another wonderful week!

Best tour operator I have ever dealt with. I plan group trips around the world and Bill Beards was definitely the best. Super detailed and communication was excellent. Took care of everything from the minute we got off the plane, to all our tours, adventures and hotel. They had helped me arrange a group trip of 20 and everyone had a fantastic time. I will definitely plan another group trip back sometime in the future.

Rocket Frog was the dive provider. Their fully stocked dive shop is on the main street in coco beacg, and their boats are anchored in coco bay. TripAdvisor didn’t say which company I was using, so I didn’t know until I got picked up.
I rented equipment from them and it all worked great. I felt very safe.
The water was a little murky, but the visibility was maybe 20’. We saw rays, a few white tip sharks, lots of porcupine fish, a shoal of jack fish, and the occasional octopus.
While above water, the seas were calm, below there were moderate currents and surge.
After the first dive the crew provided fresh pineapple, cookies, and water.
The dive group was between 10-15 people, and I didn’t feel overly crowded.
I was a solo diver, but on every dive there was always a small group of 3-4 with one dive master.
They offer nitrox, so if you want that, be sure to ask in advance.
I would recommend diving with Rocket Frog.

Thank you for the review. We rarely have 100 foot visibility but it is more than offset by the the tremendous amounts of marine life we enjoy due to the plankton and nutrients in the water around the volcanic rock pinnacles and formations.. We made the decision in 1975 to dive this area of the Pacific and have less visibility in exchange for more marine life. You were booked by Bill Beard's Costa Rica and we had you diving with the best dive operator in this area. We book the Nitrox and equipment in advance so it will be loaded on the boat in advance of your dive. The pineapple and cookies are from Costa Rica and the added touch gives you an opportunity to experience some of the country's many delicious products. We appreciate you taking the time to write the review and hope that you will return soon and enjoy more diving and adventure with us. PURA VIDA

Exceeded expectations! Our travel agency partnered with Bill Beard group for our Costa Rica vacation -- coordinated our diving with Rocket Frog, shuttle transports, Sloth / Monkey Rainforest Adventure, ZIpLine, ATV, Hanging Bridges, Tortilla Making at Mara's Home. Wouldn't change a thing! Professional, friendly, customer-focused, punctual drivers and guides.We never felt rushed -- everything was customized to us Great communication via text once in Costa Rica. HIghly recommend!

Really enjoyed letting Nadine take the stress and guesswork out of vacationing!! Thank you for setting us up with a phenomenal dive shop, and for the amazing tour to see the sloths and wildlife in the rainforest. Very helpful restaurant recommendations around our hotel was appreciated as well. We couldn't have asked for a better trip!!

Nadine at Bill Beard's was instrumental in coordinating our entire trip- Best! We were kept well informed from day 1 on all events, plans, modification and points of contacts. Transportation to and from the airport, hotel and excursions were taken care of and on time. Bill Beard's staff was easy to get ahold of for questions. They went way above and even booked our meals at the signature restaurants. Bottle of champagne in the room was nice greeting.
They booked our scuba diving with Rocket Frogs. Great service from pick up to drop off. Boat staff very friendly and professional with dive master to client ratio being no more than 4 people. Shout out to Vasco and Mac. Dive sites were good something to see on every dive. Concierge service for taking care of gear was really appreciated.
Best excursion river tubing...super fun and the guides there were very attentive.
Occidental Hotel was good depending where you are you could have some walking up hill. Buffet food was good but repetitive, the specialty restaurants were very good.
Bill Beard's really made the entire excursion a vacation.
They booked our scuba diving with Rocket Frogs. Great service from pick up to drop off. Boat staff very friendly and professional with dive master to client ratio being no more than 4 people. The scuba experience was amazing. Just a little trouble confirming the pick-up information, especially when Tripadvisor didn't show the contact info. I had to find the number through their website and tried all methods to reach out.

My favorite time is in the rainy season as the rain seems to settle the nutrients in the water resulting in better visibility.
