Hi , i would like to ask if i coming from Gornergrat station but unfortunately i've missed the Rotenboden station , and arrived at Riffelalp Station, can i still hop on Gornergrat direction train and get down at Rotenboden from Riffelalp? I'm asking this question because i was told that the ticket is a one way ticket where you cant alight at any station you wish , if i want to go back to Rotenboden , i need to purchase a new ticket at Zermatt , and it will be Zermatt - Rotenboden, i find it so funny as the radio announcement wasnt stated the same as i was being told. Maybe you should update your announcement accordingly.

Where do you catch the train up, can I prebook, and anything else we should know or suggestions. Would this be a better morning/lunch trip or an afternoon/dinner trip? What weather will we most likely see? We will be staying at the Jagerhoff in Zermatt from May19-22, 2020, tues-Friday.

May i ask again Planned to go to Gornergrat during the X mas - Newyear 2019, may i ask if the treking between stations safe for kids and is it good enough track worth carrying a rental sledge for a 10 yo kid? Or to find a rental sledge up there between train stations(if any) Nube

Thanks for all the kind answers...as for the interesting advises to trek down to the next station on the way down from Gornerrat, is this treking route from one station to another kid friendly with signage and everything? Dont want to end up in an icy hole that's for sure

From Zermatt, i am planning to purchase a return ticket to Gornergrat. Would like to know... From anyone of those stations along the way, could i make a ticket purchase to hop on to another mountain sponteneously ? Do i need to go back to Zermatt to restart the jouney? Any ticket type i should be considering for sight seeing purpose only..not a ski type Thanks Zermatt Nube

Hi All, Me and my wife love stargazing, although we are quite amateur stargazers we truly enjoy the experience. I was hoping to take my wife for her upcoming birthday, third week of October. The question I have is, is this a good time for stargazing? Are the skies generally a good time around October to witness the stars in all its glory? Also, would be quite cold as the northern hemisphere heads into winter, how cold can I expect it to be? Just need to know so that so we can pack enough warm clothes as I am travelling from Australia. If this is not a good time, what is a good time of the year to go stargazing in Gronergrat? Another thingI wanted to know is, what things are there to do around this area? I plan to stay at the Klumhotel, I have had a look at some photos and its spectacular - views that my wife would really appreciate and help me make her day. Thanks for your help everyone.

I'm confused.Thought I need to purchase Jungfrau Travel Pass of CHF 176, but with 50% with Swiss Travel Pass.

We expect to reach Zermatt on 10/9/2019 about 3pm and going to Interlaken the next morning. Shall we go to Gornergrat in the afternoon or taking a lazy stroll in the town area? Or will that be better to go Gornergrat early morning the next day?
