An amazing place and well worth a visit. Brilliant exhibits with a potted history of transport across the country and Oxford. Parking is a little tight but we managed to find a space. If you are planning to have a meal in the little cafe you are in for a disappointment as it is drinks and snacks. Over all I would recommend this lovely little museum, the staff/volunteers are so friendly and helpful.

An amazing place with 2 museums in one really. Given all volunteers the presentation and quality is excellent. Would not associate Morris with bicycles or torpedo manufacture (wartime) and the quality of restorations wonderful. Café is small but food and drink very good and very reasonably priced and served with a smile. S0me senior guys around during our walk around who are happy to share a wealth of knowledge and experiences over many years. Well worth a visit.

Lived in Oxfordshire most of my life and never visited the museum, much to my detriment. Fantastic museum with so much to see and do. Great for kids and adults. Loved all the little touches including a momento vintage bus ticket when riding on the free vintage buses. The whole museum is an absolute credit to all that work there and renovate the amazing exhibits, cars, bikes, buses, trams, memorabilia etc etc etc. Will definitely be going again

This museum is local to us but this was our first visit. The volunteers who run it couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming, and they’re clearly passionate about what they do. There’s a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
Our two year old and three year old really enjoyed being able to climb on some of the buses and there was a lot of information on the boards. The 25 minute ride to Woodstock and back was a real bonus - we went on a Sunday when the bus leaves at 12:15 and 14:15.
Definitely worth a visit for any transport enthusiast - or anyone wanting something a bit different.

Such an interesting little museum. I'm not a bus geek, nor particularly interested in transport in general, but I found the museum fascinating.

All things bus related for in and around oxford A small but lovely museum dedicated to oxfordshire bus services that includes the morris motors museum too. They often have special days, like the day of our visit where it was a military vehicles day.

Have been meaning to visit for years and finally got round to it at the weekend. Superb. Informative. Nostalgic. There’s so much to see – not only buses but also old cycles and Morris motors. Suggested time may be 1-2 hours but we took three and a half and there was so much to read and so many photographs to look at it could have been longer. The volunteers there are absolute heroes for keeping the past alive. And the bus ride was a bonus. Stepping back in time. Loved it.

We recently held a 50th Birthday Celebration at Oxford Bus Museum. 5 star service from start to finish and all of our guests loved the venue and the buses! So many wonderful memories made and the wall mural was a popular photo oppertunity!🥳 Thank you to all of the volunteers who make it possible!

Located next to Long Hanborough station, this is a great museum for anyone interested in transport. As well as the main museum, there is also the separate Morris Motors Museum, both included in the single entry price of £8. In the Bus Museum there are several beautifully restored buses (plus a few in terrible state, awaiting restoration) which operated on the streets of Oxfordshire and beyond in times past, some of which visitors are allowed to board, and imagine one's self travelling to school or work or to the shops in bygone times. The place is also packed with bus memorabilia: bus stops, old route maps, destination blinds, staff uniforms, ticket machines and so on. Then cross the forecourt to a separate building which houses the Morris Motors Museum, containing everything you can think of relating to the Morris Motor Company. There are, of course, several iconic Morris cars, spanning different eras and, again, much memorabilia about all things Morris. There is also a very interesting display of bicycles dating from mid-Victorian times up to around the middle of the 20th Century. An excellent, inexpensive day out - but note they only open Wednesdays and Sundays, plus Saturdays during school holidays.

Thank you for your full review - it is much appreciated. If only we had more volunteers we could open a bit more often.

A well laid out and tidy small museum , run by a friendly group of volunteers. The bonus of a Morris museum and a super bicycle collection is on the site. Cafe, shop and parking.

My 3 year old grandson is mad about buses. Do you have a route master or RMT that he could go on, as he wants to get on a bus with an open platform and a pole at the back. He also likes to go "upstairs". It is 55 miles and 1 1/4 hours each way to get to you.

Hello, Yes we do, a Routemaster is only one particular type of rear entrance bus with an open platform and a pole in the centre of it. We have static examples he can go on and on our two Santa Sundays and 1 Jan 2018 we will have one or two of them offering free rides - subject availability and weather conditions. Why not call before you set off to see if these and/or other types of old buses will be out on the road?

Hi
Do you allow small dogs to come in? We are hoping to visit in 2 weeks while staying in the Cotswolds for our wedding anniversary but we are bringing our little man (Walter the Pug) with us.
Thanks
