Greg, John and Bethany were such great hosts. Analemma Wines is a beautiful, clean and modern winery. John was kind enough to take us on a vineyard tour on a Saturday afternoon. The vineyards next to the winery are surrounded by cherry trees and incredible views of the Gorge. John was extremely knowledgeable about their entire wine making process. You could tell he (and the team) takes pride in the techniques used and is committed to making great wine. I love how the team here plants varietals (Spanish) that are suited for their land and climate. I think this team will be crafting some incredible reds with those Spanish varietals over the next few years. The Gewurztraminer (dry) was one of the most unique white wines I have ever tasted.. I wish I bought more.
Such good vibes out at Analemma. Highly recommended!!

The owners and staff are incredibly knowledgeable and friendly, and are en route to producing world class wines from their bucolic vineyards just outside of downtown Mosier. Its a great place to taste their wines or picnic in their orchards.

Just a few miles south of Hood River, this is a unique winery with great tastes. We are partial to Gewurztraminer and Pinot Noir wines and found four delicious varieties here. They grow their own grapes. They pay particular attention to the sun's migratory path through the year and the rhythms to soil, plants and environment, resulting in their name. We enjoyed the flavors so much, we bought four bottles to bring home.

We began with the Atavus Rose of Pinot Noir. This was excellent. Next we compared the Atavus Gewurtzraminer with the Oak Ridge. They were both excellent but I preferred the former because it wasn't as sweet as the latter. Atavus Pinot Noir was next. It was soft and elegant. It lingered on the palate for a long time. The final wine was the Oak Ridge Pinot Noir. This was also good but also a little sweet for my taste. The Atavus vineyard is at a higher elevation and consequently their wines are quite different from the Oak Ridge ones. In general I liked the wines from Atavus the best.

To celebrate my 30th birthday, my husband reserved a vineyard tour at Analemma on a misty Sunday in early October. I'm so grateful he did, as this was one of our most favorite experiences of our entire Columbia River Gorge trip!!

We were greeted warmly, poured a glass of their delectable rose, and then headed up a hill lined with cherry trees to the top, overlooking the vineyards. We were educated on the soil, the types of grapes grown on-site, and the cultivation process - it was so thorough, and so tailored to what we wanted to know about organic wine making that I left there without any questions left!

After the vineyard, we headed inside to where the wine is processed in batches and we were shown different grapes turning to wine at different fermentation stage. We then sat and had a generous wine tasting right in front of the beautiful oak barrels with flannel blankets. We met the owners and every single staff person greeted me with a "Happy Birthday". We couldn't keep ourselves from buying several bottles!

So, so highly recommended!!

We were referred to Analemma by the proprietor of a vineyard across the river in Washington State, and although getting there was a bit of a challenge, we felt the effort was well worth it. The facility, which can be toured, is new and nicely designed, and we watched the beginning of this year's sparkling wine dripping out of the crusher. The wines we tasted were very nice indeed, and as production is currently limited, if you can get hold of a case or two you're likely to be among the few who can enjoy it. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Mosier is known as a center for sports, but we'd go back for the winery.
