Great location!

First time to Cincinnati. Met our 22 year old son there for a mother son weekend. OTR was a great central location. Lots of great restaurants and eateries. A great mix of new and old buildings. Instead of gentrifying this area, they revitalized it. It has a great mix of people. I expected to see more people out and about on Saturday morning, but the city seems to wake up closer to 10/11am. I plan on going back and bringing my husband on a Riverside Food Tour, a visit to the Sign Museum and Cincinnati Museum, Findlay Market and a stroll around the city. We had great food, and wish we were there longer. So much to do! So many places to explore. So much good food to enjoy!

Over the Rhine visit

Over the Rhine is an area 30 years ago when I was in school at UC was a place you did not go. With all of the work and money that has been put into Cincinnati most importantly over the Rhine it still can be a scary place late at night. Right outside our motel was a shooting. You're going to have to work on that Cincinnati

Good place to check out

Fun place to check out and have some drinks or a meal. Lots of choices for restaurants. The people that work there are friendly.

Great night life and restaurants

We stay at an Airbnb over the fine. Great place to stay. Findlay Market is a must see. Has a brewery district lots of fun. Great restaurants within walking distance. Has a connector with close stops that can be Rode downtown is free and easy to navigate

Fun Area

This is a marvelous cutting edge area that feels like a slice of Brooklyn in the heart of the Midwest. There are many great restaurants and bars, along with some fine public spaces. This is a place to visit and enjoy on a trip to Cincinnati.

Hip Neighborhood Still with Some Grittiness

I really enjoyed walking around this area of town. Lots of great restaurants, bars and shops. TQL stadium is nearby. The neighborhood is still transitioning. Still somewhat gritty giving it some authenticity but mostly gentrified and certainly, a hipster part of town. Taft Alehouse is a unique place to eat and drink and Milton's Prospect Hill Tavern is an authentic neighborhood watering hole to experience. B&A Street Kitchen served up some outstanding breakfasts.

lovely neighbourhood

We liked the street, murals, people (very hip hipsters all around), restaurants although the contrast between Rolls Royces and homeless people was quite harsh.

Plan to Spend the Day in OTR!

There is so much to see and do in Over-the-Rhine! The shops...the food...the tours. We will be coming back for more!

Terrible Not for Travelers At All

I love Cincinnati and I hate to write this. My wife and I read great things about OTR - our experience was just miserable.

Maybe COVID caused a lot of small businesses to close - who knows - but there were dozens of empty stores - the streets around Findlay Market were over run with gang members, homeless people, there was open evidence of illegal activity in broad daylight

After our “walk” around the market we decided to drive over to Vine and Main - we never made a single stop - again many stores closed and lots of people who are, clearly not representatives of the local chamber of commerce all over the sidewalk

My advice - unless and until stores return in mass this area is not want it, obviously, once was do not rely on older reviews and articles

A semi-gentrified area

There has been so much improvement and investment in this area. While there are many fun restaurants and shops, there is still a considerable amount of loitering and uncomfortable moments on the streets.
