We've only taken the metro. It's so easy. The metro station is just outside the terminal door. Because the airport is at the end of the metro line you can't get on the wrong train. Get off at Almeda and change to the Green Line direction Cais de Sodre. Get off at Rossio and you're about 200 meters from the hotel. It takes about half an hour and you don't have to worry about getting stuck in traffic

Hi, we caught a taxi and paid about 15 Euros. There was not much to see on the fairly short trip from the airport to the hotel, everything you will want to see is all around the hotel, in the old town centre and along the river front.

We took the bus and it was cheap 4 euro's I think. However it was packed and we had to stand up all the way so didn't see a lot. If you want to see the sights you will be better off on a sightseeing bus.

It’s so easy to get from the airport to the hotel on the metro. Delivers you straight to the heart of the city right on the door step of the hotel. Yes do a bus trip but as a sightseeing trip

Take a taxi and check into the hotel and place your bags in your room etc. Then walk around. You are basically in the heart of the city. Public transportation is sometimes crowded and its hard to see anything.

It’s very easy, just take the Subway to Rossio. If you have a Lisboa card or day card for public transport is included.

Hi all fellow travelers - thank you for your answers, much appreciated. I think we'll go metro, drop bags and grab the 28 whilst watching out for the dreaded pickpockets. Actually as I'm in the video business we might even do a set-up. I was thinking that my super wife could have a nice loose unzipped fashion bag over her shoulder with a rat trap loaded inside while I video from afar. Should make for some interesting footage!!!

Happy Christmas all
