Villa Romana Hotel & Spa Questions et réponses

Burlington, Canada

We are looking at using this location as one of perhaps two or three properties to use as a home base for touring to Sorrento Positano, isle of Capris as well as Ravello., Herculaneum etc. Will it be easy to acces from here by bus?

As in other posts, I would not recommend buses. They are rarely on time, frequently packed (even in June when we were there) but at least the journies are entertaining... if you are a fan of "The Italian Job" (the Michael Caine version) if you get my drift!

Hotel is a great base to explore from though and we intend to return around September 2019.

there is a bus stop at the bottom of the road but it is a long way to Pompei etc and the buses will take forever. Much better if you can hire a car for the day or even get a taxi ( more expensive but you will save a lot of time) Minori is a great place to stay though and the hotel is lovely. we used local buses for local trips and hired a car for the further away ones

Yes, regular bus routes run through Minori as well as regular water taxi service to Sorrento, Amalfi, Positano, Ischia, plus many other towns, etc.

We had serious troubles by using the bus for these more remote locations. You better can stay in Sorrento, which has excellent train and ferry connections.

The bus in Minori are available but cost an awfull lot of time, and most of the time (in our case) the busses were full and you had to wait for another hour. Taking the buss is a gamble.

Yes, you are in about the center of the Amalfi Coast. The public bus runs along the coast.

Hi

Sorrento is doable and is about a 2 hour bus ride from Minori. The day we were due to go the road was closed due to a land slide.

Positano is nearer, we went on the local ferry from Minori to Amalfi then Amalfi to Positano but you can also take a bus. Positano is beautiful.

If you are feeling energetic you can walk to Ravello but we caught the bus! It's about half an hours walk back down again.

Ferries go to Capris from Amalfi, which by bus is about 20 minutes.

We also went to Pompei. I did a Google search and it came up with 4 options on how to get there by bus, train, taxi, etc.

We felt Minori was a great spot to stay, it was easy access to the beach, quite flat compared to other local towns along the coast and also had great ferry links. If we went again we might also choose to stay in Positano but this is a much busier town.

Yes but the quickest way is by local ferry. Bus can be slow due to traffic and narrow coast road. Great views enroute but nice to enjoy the boat ride
